	Eastern State Penitentiary Shoot & Share Philadelphia, PA Begins at 7am Ends at 8pm Tue, November 20 Cost: $475 A one-day Learning Workshop

Construction began on Eastern State Penitentiary in 1822 and it quickly became one of the most-copied prison designs in the world with a radical new, radial design. It was completely abandoned in 1971 and sat, untended, unused and uncared for until it was transferred to the City of Philadelphia in 1980. In 1991, preservation efforts began which eventually transformed the prison and grounds into a museum.

Located smack dab in the middle of bustling Philadelphia, this easy-to-reach location is a must-see for historic enthusiasts.

Much of the building remains as it always was with peeling paint, rusting fixtures, water-filled cells, dripping ceilings and rotted carved banisters. The building has beautiful, subtle light and is a photographer's treasure trove of creepy, historic scenes.

Itinerary
7:00am	Meet the van at the Apple Bank building on Broadway and 74th Street on Manhattan's Upper West Side
9:30am	Arrive at gate
10:00am	Begin shooting
3:00pm	Wrap up and head to meeting room to edit work
4:00pm	Load up favorite images for projection sharing session with pizza and beer
7:00pm	Head back to Manhattan

I'm a working professional photographer
I decided to set up my own workshop because I l couldn't find the right group to travel with. I was looking for some good camaraderie, loosely structured photo guidance and like-minded people to share the time with. I also love to share my work and hear what people think of it! I am a professional photographer in New York City. I specialize in women's portraiture and make a significant portion of my living from stock photography.

I wasn't always this lucky. I worked on Wall Street for many years where I learned a lot about computers and people. When I left the industry, I had no idea that I would end up where I am. About the Weather
Philadelphia's November weather can be cool and damp. Bring plenty of layers as we'll be virtually outside in an unheated building all day.
